Software developer & filmmaker MMXXVI
§ about me

I work on systems,
before code
or frames.

I'm Riccardo Galeazzi: a PHP developer for over ten years and a professional filmmaker since 2022. I live and work on Lake Garda, in Toscolano Maderno. The thread running through everything I do is a passion for complex problems, whether they involve code or video production.

§ the path

I hold a technical diploma specialized in computer science, and from there I never stopped coding: first on a proprietary ERP in ASP, then in PHP from 2015 onward, gradually specializing in Laravel. Over the years I've worked on very different projects: from institutional websites to complex web applications with thousands of users. Today I work full-time as a PHP/Laravel developer. PHP and Laravel are my primary tools, but curiosity has led me to explore Node.js for real-time automation and a range of video-software integration tools that few developers know. I use AI tools daily to speed up development and raise code quality.

My passion for video started with a meeting. In 2018 I met journalist Sandro Pellegrini, who introduced me to journalism and video production for local TV news: behind the camera I discovered the power of visual storytelling and the value of timing. In 2022 I registered as self-employed and officially launched the "Il Videografo" brand, specializing in live multicamera direction: sports events, performing arts, theatre. I chose not to shoot weddings: I focus on live events, sports, and performing arts, where the technical and unpredictable side has more room than a ceremony does.

§ where they meet

Where technology and creativity meet.

The strength isn't "I can do both things": it's that the two skills feed each other. I write Lua scripts for DaVinci Resolve to automate complex grading. I build automatic athlete recognition systems to speed up on-site photo printing. I integrate live APIs into broadcast productions to display real-time data during direction. These solutions come precisely from the overlap between the two disciplines: a direction problem solved with code, or a developer's idea that only takes shape because I also know the video production side.

§ how I work

Quality over quantity. I prefer fewer projects done well. In both development and filmmaking, I take on work where I can bring real contribution, not work to do and forget.

Systems thinking. Every project is a system to optimize. Before writing code or turning on a camera, I think about how the parts connect and where bottlenecks form.

Technical curiosity. I experiment constantly. If a technology can improve the result, I study it. Not to chase trends, but to have the right tools when needed.

Territory. I'm rooted in Lake Garda. For software projects I work remotely without geographic limits. For video projects I mainly work across Brescia, Bergamo, Verona, Mantua, and Cremona.
